Speakers

Chisaram (Chissy) Nkemere leads Rock & Alternative Artist Partnerships at Spotify & serves as the Global Chair of Education at Women in Music after spending 2.5 years as the organization’s first Global Chair of Diversity & Inclusion.. She also serves on The Recording Academy’s New York Chapter Advocacy Committee, is a member of The Music Business Association’s Education Committee, and recently served as a member on the Junior Board of The Music Business Association, focusing on the empowerment and education of the music community as a whole.

At Spotify, Chissy works across internal teams, and externally with artists & their teams to amplify Rock & Alternative music through a variety of unique partnerships & initiatives. As an advocate for greater representation in music, Chissy has worked alongside several women- & minority-focused organizations to push forward the collective goal of equity through anti-prejudicial and anti-racist work.

Chissy’s focus as an executive in music has led to her participation in several panels & industry discussions on strategic marketing & streaming, leadership, minority representation/amplification, opportunity creation, & her own intersections as a young, Black woman in music.

When is the Creator Summit taking place?
The Creator Summit will take place on Friday, September 29th at 6PM ET at the Beverly Snow Room at Eaton DC, located at 1201 K Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20005.

Does RSVP guarantee admission?
An RSVP is required to enter the Creator Summit but does not guarantee entry. Entry will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis.

Will there be food & drink?

There will be light refreshments and paid bar (21+).

Will there be festival merch available for sale?

Yes, there will be a limited quantity of festival merch available for sale starting at 6PM.
